Delivered from the Martin Omaha plant. Next listed as Omaha, Nebraska (ATC) from 21/1/44. Then flown by Des Moines Airport, Polk County, Iowa (ATC Ferry) from 30/1/44, to the 3rd AF staging area at Hunter Field, Savannah, Georgia (from 31/1/44). Flown overseas to the UK via the Southern Ferry Route (Listed as Caribbean Wing), departing the USA on 9/2/44. The record card then lists, SOXO A (Europe) on 9/2/44, and SOXO R (Europe) on 24/2/44. Entered combat with the 391st BG / 575th BS on 28/5/44. Damaged Cat.5 (written off) in a landing accident at A-87 Charleroi, Belgium returning from the aborted mission to Duren, Germany on 23/9/44. The aircraft flown by 1st Lt. Earl M Harnest had been forced to seek alternative landing sites due to the bad weather encountered on the return flight. The aircraft was directed to land at A-87 by "Sweepstake", and landed at 1820 hours. The grass runway was short, and it was raining as the aircraft landed, was unable to stop, and crashed into a fuel dump on the edge of the field. The nose wheel collapsed and the props were bent in the accident, but all the crew escaped uninjured. Fifteen minutes later another B-26 landed and skidded into this aircraft and caught fire, destroying both aircraft. Aircraft salvaged on 27/9/44 by the 391st BG. The final entries on the aircraft record card list, GLUE 9AF CON ON ALS on 26/9/44, GLUE 9AF REPAIR on 27/9/44, and, GLUE 9AF CON MIA on 27/9/44. These final entries do not tie up with the rest of the aircraft data, or the group records.
