Built at the Glenn L Martin factory at Baltimore, Maryland as a B-26G-1-MA. Accepted by the Army Air Force on 18/5/44. Then flown by New Castle (2nd Ferry Group), Wilmington, Deleware (from 6/6/44), to the 3rd AF staging area at Hunter Field, Savannah, Georgia (from 6/6/44). Then went to Dow Field, Bangor, Maine (from 14/6/44), from where the aircraft was flown overseas to the UK via the Northern Ferry Route (Listed as North Atlantic Wing), departing the USA on 14/6/44. The aircraft record card then lists, GLUE 9AF A (Europe - 9th AF) from 14/6/44, and GLUE 9AF G (Europe - 9th AF) from 25/6/44. Entered combat with the 391st BG / 575th BS on 2/10/44, coded O8-X. Flew 4 combat missions with the 575th BS, the last on 14/10/44, then transferred to the 572nd BS. Entered combat with the 572nd BS on 29/10/44, coded P2-J. Crash landed at Aspelt, 6 miles SSE of Luxembourg after running out of fuel due to flak damage received on the 10/2/45 mission to Berg / Gladbach, Germany. The pilot, 2nd Lt. Paul R. Young, and all the crew escaped, but the aircraft which had flown an additional 28 combat missions was declared Cat.E (Cat.4), and written off. The final entry on the aircraft record card lists, GLUE 9AF CON SAL BD on 11/2/45.
