Built at the Glenn L Martin factory at Baltimore, Maryland as a B-26G-15-MA. Accepted by the Army Air Force on 28/9/44. Then flown by Baltimore, Maryland (ATC) from 2/10/44, to the 3rd AF staging area at Hunter Field, Savannah, Georgia (from 2/10/44). Next went to Morrison Field, West Palm Beach, Florida (1103 BAS) from 24/10/44, from where the aircraft was flown overseas via the Southern Ferry Route, departing the USA on 26/10/44. The aircraft record card then lists, GLUE 9AF A (Europe - 9th AF) on 26/10/44, and GLUE 9AF R (Europe - 9th AF) on 21/11/44. Entered combat with the 391st BG / 574th BS on 26/12/44. Shot down by flak on the 24/2/45 mission to bomb flak positions at Irlich, Germany. The aircraft flown by 1st Lt. William M Huskey was hit by flak on breakaway from the primary target. It was struck in the port and starboard engines, bomb bay, and possibly the navigators compartment, then caught fire. The aircraft dropped out of formation and was seen to explode in mid air at about 5,000 feet. Only three of the crew managed to bail out before the aircraft crashed near Denkelford, Germany. Engines, P&W, R-2800-43, serials: FP-064986 (left), and, FP-065048 (right). The final entry on the aircraft record card lists, GLUE 9AF CON MIA on 25/2/45. According to Horst Weber, the aircraft crashed at Pomster, Germany. According to the MACR, this aircraft was un-named, we have also seen that this aircraft was named "Lil' Mae".
