Built at the Glenn L Martin factory at Baltimore, Maryland as a B-26F-1-MA. Accepted by the Army Air Force on 10/3/44. Then went to the 3rd AF staging area at Hunter Field, Savannah, Georgia (from 13/3/44). Next went to Homestead Army Air Field, Florida (from 4/4/44), from where the aircraft was flown overseas to the UK via the Southern Ferry Route, departing the USA on 4/4/44. The aircraft record card then lists, SOXO 9AF A (Europe - 9th AF) from 3/4/44, and GLUE 9AF R (Europe - 9th AF) from 20/4/44. Entered combat with the 391st BG / 574th BS on 3/8/44. Badly damaged by flak on the 16/8/44 mission to Fismes, France, including a damaged left engine. The aircraft flown by Lt. Peter Metelsky, crashed whilst attempting to land at Matching Green on return, suffered Cat. E damage and was salvaged. Three of the crew were slightly injured. The final entry on the aircraft record card lists, GLUE 9AF CON SAL BD on 16/8/44.
