Aircraft history for serial number: 43-34561 (kindly provided by Paul Clouting).
Built at the Glenn L Martin factory at Baltimore, Maryland as a B-26G-10-MA. Accepted by the Army Air Force on 31/8/44. Then flown by Baltimore, Maryland (ATC) from 5/9/44, to the 3rd AF staging area at Hunter Field, Savannah, Georgia (from 5/9/44). Next went to Morrison Field, West Palm Beach, Florida (1103 BAS) from 13/9/44, from where the aircraft was flown overseas via the Southern Ferry Route, departing the USA on 29/9/44. The record card then lists, IRON A (Oahu Island, Hawaii - 7th AF) from 29/9/44, and, DUKO R (Italy - 12th AF) on 15/10/44. Entered combat with the 391st BG / 573rd BS on 14/2/45. Flew 45 combat missions, then transferred out of the group in April 1945 when the 391st BG converted to the Douglas A-26.
