Aircraft history for serial number: 43-34441 (kindly provided by Paul Clouting).
Built at the Glenn L Martin factory at Baltimore, Maryland as a B-26G-10-MA. Accepted by the Army Air Force on 29/7/44. Then flown by Baltimore, Maryland (ATC) from 3/8/44, to the 3rd AF staging area at Hunter Field, Savannah, Georgia (from 3/8/44). Next went to Dow Field, Bangor, Maine (from 11/8/44), from where the aircraft was flown overseas to the 9th AF in the UK via the Northern Ferry Route, departing the USA on 12/8/44. The aircraft record card then lists, GLUE 9AF A (Europe - 9th AF) from 11/8/44, and GLUE 9AF G (Europe - 9th AF) from 21/8/44. Entered combat with the 391st BG / 575th BS on 9/11/44, coded O8-F. Flew 13 combat missions till 25/12/44, then was recoded O8-Q. Resumed combat as O8-Q on 26/12/44, and flew an additional 39 combat missions till April 1945 when the aircraft was transferred out of the group when the 391st BG converted to the Douglas A-26. The final entry on the aircraft record card lists, GLUE CON SAL CU on 21/5/46. We do not know what happened after this aircraft was transferred out of the 391st BG, but it is not listed as being salvaged till May 1946.
