Built at the Glenn L Martin factory at Baltimore, Maryland as a B-26G-5-MA. Accepted by the Army Air Force on 21/6/44. Then flown by Baltimore, Maryland (ATC) from 30/6/44, to the 3rd AF staging area at Hunter Field, Savannah, Georgia (from 30/6/44). Then went to Grenier Army Air Field, New Hampshire (from 11/7/44), from where the aircraft was flown overseas to the UK via the Northern Ferry Route, departing the USA on 12/7/44. The aircraft record card then lists, GLUE 9AF A (Europe - 9th AF) from 12/7/44, and GLUE 9AF G (Europe - 9th AF) from 23/7/44. Entered combat with the 1st Pathfinder SQN on 13/4/45. The aircraft flew 3 combat missions and survived the war. The final entry on the aircraft record card lists, GLUE CON SAL FEA on 2/4/46. We have a photograph of this aircraft sitting on its tail. This aircraft must have served with another ETO unit before joining the 1st Pathfinder SQN, or must have joined that SQN earlier than listed, since it was flown over to the UK in July 1944.
