Next flown by New Castle (2nd Ferry Group), Wilmington, Deleware (from 11/12/43), to the 3rd AF staging area at Hunter Field, Savannah, Georgia (from 12/12/43). Flown overseas to the UK via the Southern Ferry Route (Listed as Carribean Wing), departing the USA on 26/12/43. The aircraft record card then lists, SOXO A (Europe - 8th AF) on 26/12/43, and SOXO R (Europe - 8th AF) from 30/1/44. Entered combat with the 1st Pathfinder SQN on 22/5/44, escorting the 387th BG to the target, coastal defence guns at La Parnelle / Barfleur, France. Suffered an engine failure on take-off and crashed at A-61 Beauvais / Tille Airfield, France on 6/1/45 flown by Gerald W Shirey. The aircraft suffered Cat.4 damage, and was condemned for salvage on 7/1/45. Earlier flown by Lt. Sliff. The final entry on the aircraft record card lists, GLUE 9AF CON SAL NBD on 7/1/45.
