Transferred from the 323rd BG in February 1944. Flew its first combat mission with the 1st Pathfinder SQN on 20/4/44. On the 15/11/44 the pilot, Capt. Willard B Irwin and crew abandoned the aircraft at Rozy-en-Brie, France after it caught fire in flight. The crew had become lost returning from a practise bombing mission. After the crew had bailed out, the aircraft crashed near Rozy-en-Brie, France. Aircraft salvaged on 18/11/44. The final entry on the aircraft record card lists, GLUE 9AF CON SAL on 18/11/44. ADDENDUM: Dawson Kershaw's diary gives the aircraft name as "Diaper Duck".
