15 B-26 plus 1 Pathfinder aircraft loaded with 4x1000LB General Purpose bombs were dispatched to attack enemy Bridges at Thibouville, France. The 9th Tactical Air Force will be furnishing area cover.
Weather conditions enroute were 8/10 clouds at 5,000 feet over the Channel, changing to 9/10 stratus at 13,000 feet with visibility 12 to 15 miles over the target area.
FLAK encountered was Heavy, Weak, Inaccurate near Thiberville, but none over the target area.
The formation's bombs fell in a dispersed concentration about 100 feet N of the Designated Mean Point of Impact with hits on bridge, its approach and a road junction just E of the bridge. Bombs also fell in residential areas NE and SE of bridge and in open fields. Results were rated as EXCELLENT.
Criticisms of the food and transport to hardstands continue to be regularly made at debriefing.
