NOTES: Captain Benjamin Franklin Schoenfeld flew over with Loesch in 42-95839 as an "extra". He does not appear in any crew loading lists for the group's missions, so it is not clear whether he served with the group in a non-combat role or he was assigned to another group.
Schoenfeld crashed whilst piloting A-26B 43-22273 on 24 December 1944 at Sardinia, Brown County, Ohio. Where he was flying from and to is not currently known.
There are reports on the web stating that he served in the Aleutian Islands. His gravestone states that he was a member of the 28th AAF Composite Group, who were based in the Aleutian Islands at the time of his journey to the ETO and also his death.
